* Added suppport for generating code without verifying with DNA,
this doesn't give good errors and is more error prone, but makes
it easier to wrap things like EditBone which are not in DNA.
* RNA_define_verify_sdna(0), and set to 1 again afterwards.
Too many new features to list! But here are the biggies:
- Boids can move on air and/or land, or climb a goal object.
- Proper interaction with collision objects.
* Closest collision object in negative z direction is considered as ground.
* Other collision objects are obstacles and boids collide with them.
- Boid behavior rules are now added to a dynamic list.
* Many new rules and many still not implemented.
* Different rule evaluation modes (fuzzy, random, average).
- Only particle systems defined by per system "boid relations" are considered for simulation of that system.
* This is in addition to the boids own system of course.
* Relations define other systems as "neutral", "friend" or "enemy".
- All effectors now effect boid physics, not boid brains.
* This allows forcing boids somewhere.
* Exception to this is new "boid" effector, which defines boid predators (positive strength) and goals (negative strength).
Known issue:
- Boid health isn't yet stored in pointcache so simulations with "fight" rule are not be read from cache properly.
- Object/Group visualization object's animation is not played in "particle time". This is definately the wanted behavior, but isn't possible with the current state of dupliobject code.
Other new features:
- Particle systems can now be named separately from particle settings.
* Default name for particle settings is now "ParticleSettings" instead of "PSys"
- Per particle system list of particle effector weights.
* Enables different effection strengths for particles from different particle systems with without messing around with effector group setting.
Other code changes:
- KDTree now supports range search as it's needed for new boids.
- "Keyed particle targets" renamed as general "particle targets", as they're needed for boids too. (this might break some files saved with new keyed particles)
Bug fixes:
- Object & group visualizations didn't work.
- Interpolating pointcache didn't do rotation.
* Some changes to make lamp and world textures editing work.
You may have to click on another texture slot once before
being able to add a texture, and the layout is messy. Added
this so lightenv project isn't blocked by this being missing.
* Adding a new material slot now doesn't create a new material
anymore, to avoid creating unused materials.
* Tiny changes to scene/object buttons.
* support for dynamic enums to be inspected enumProp.items() from python.
* fix, enums check for a separator was flipped, meant no enums were in docs.
* dynamic enum functions now check for a NULL context and return all possible options for the "items" attribute used for docs.
* added an arg for rna arrays to free the array there looping over (needed to free dynamically allocated enum items)
* python api checks for NULL items since this can happen in some cases.
* python api, When getting an enum ID from an int in an array - If it failed it would get the first enum identifier and return that. Brecht? dont understand, making it return an empty string in these cases.
All kinds of changes to get it ready for UI layouts. This means RNA
and operators should be working correct, but most buttons are still
not actually there yet.
* Added near empty soft body, fluid, field and collision panels,
tweaks to cloth panels.
* Fluid bake works, but without escape or showing any progress.
* Fluid/Softbody/Cloth/Collision can now be both added as modifiers
or in the physics panels.
* Missing: fields & soft body for particles.
* Missing: proper updating softbodies, guess this code still needs
updates after pointcache refactor?
Implementation of RNA side of foreach_get/foreach_set,
Campbell will do python code.
Three functions for efficiently setting some property for all
items in a collection. RNA_property_collection_raw_array gives
access to the properties as an array with length, stride, and
type specified, if this is possible, i.e. not when it uses a
ListBase, or if a manual get/set function is implemented.
Two other functions take a C array pointer and get/set it
using the a collection + property name, using efficient array
access if possible, and otherwise using slower RNA iterator.
RNA_property_collection_raw_get
RNA_property_collection_raw_set
The number of type conversion required here got a bit out of
hand, it could be more efficient still if checking for more
cases, but function is already long enough.
Example: http://www.pasteall.org/6362/c
* removed radiosity render code, DNA and RNA (left in radio render pass options), we'll get GI to replace this probably, better allow baking to vertex colors for people who used this.
* removed deprecated solid physics library, sumo integrations and qhull, a dependency
* removed ODE, was no longer being build or supported
* remove BEOS and AMIGA defines and references in Makefiles.
* Optimized RNA property lookups and path resolving, still can be
much better, but now the 1000 IPO example on bf-taskforce25
runs at reasonable speed.
* Also an optimization in the depsgraph when dealing with many
objects, this was actually also a bottleneck here.
Merging changes made by Arystanbek in the soc-2009-kazanbas branch,
plus some things modified and added by me.
* The API files now all in the makesrna module, convention is to
call them e.g. rna_mesh_api.c for rna_mesh.c. Note for visual
studio build maintainers, the rna_*_api.c files are compiled as
part of "makesrna", but do not have rna_*_gen.c generated as part
of the library. SCons/cmake/make were updated.
* Added function flags FUNC_USE_CONTEXT and FUNC_USE_REPORTS, to
allow RNA functions to get context and error reporting parameters
optionally. Renamed FUNC_TYPESTATIC to FUNC_NO_SELF.
* RNA collections now have a pointer to add/remove FunctionRNA's, this
isn't actually used anywhere yet, purpose is to make an alias
main.meshes.add() for main.add_mesh() in python.
* Fixes to make autogenerating property set/get for multidimensional
arrays work, though a 4x4 matrix will be exposed as a length 16
one dimensional RNA array.
* Functions and properties added:
* Main.add_mesh()
* Main.remove_mesh()
* Object.matrix
* Object.create_render_mesh()
* WindowManager.add_fileselect()
Most of the relevant properties have been wrapped.
- There are still some properties I'm not sure about whether they should be exposed at all (which have been left out for now). Most of these are really internal flags which are used in a few select places.
- To maintain the integrity of the settings, I've included some custom code for a few of the setters (i.e. scale/end-frame) where changing one should result in a change in the other and vica-versa.
Also, tweaked the wrapping for a few other types.
Another side effect of this commit is that I can now uncommented some code for using F-Curves to control the influence and time of the strips. These F-Curves would need to be specifically attached to the NLA-Strip they affect for now (TODO: I need to review this again...), and as such, cannot be used yet since there's no (end-user-accessible) way to do this :)
* Any Struct can now have ID properties, by creating a callback
function to create/return an IDProperty.
* Wrapped PoseChannel ID properties.
* Note there is still no way to create ID Properties in 2.5, though
the callback to get/create the initial group is now exposed through
RNA_struct_idproperties.
* For RNA wrapped functions, the prototypes of the original
function being wrapped is now generated as well. This is
an extra check to ensure that the function is correctly
wrapped. It's printed after the function is used to still
get proper warnings in case the #include for it is missing.
* Added the build system code to compile files named
editors/*/*_api.c into the makesrna preprocessing.
The reason to do this is to keep operators and API
close together, but it doesn't fit well with the build
system, especially Makefiles use an ugly hack here.
* Some fixes to pass an RNA AnyType through the API,
this will give a PointerRNA, for use in the interface
code for example.
* Added RNA wrapping of some UI template code as a test.
which can be defined to call C functions with defined parameters.
* Parameters are RNA properties, with the same types.
* Parameters are stored in a ParameterList, which is like a small
stack with the values. This is then used to call the C function.
* Includes Python integration.
* Only one test function is part of this commit, ID.rename.
* Integration with the editors/ module is not included in this
commit, there's some issues to be worked out for that still.
* Made it based on string lookups rather than fixed enum, to make
it extensible by python scripts.
* Context callbacks now also have to specify RNA type when returning
pointers or collections. For non-RNA wrapped data, UnknownType can
be used.
* RNA wrapped context. The WM entries are fixed, for data context
only main and scene are defined properties. Other data entries have
to be dynamically looked up.
* I've added some special code in python for the dynamic context
lookups. Tried to hide it behind RNA but didn't find a clean way to
do it yet. Still unused/untested.
* Also minor fix for warning about propertional edit property in
transform code, and fix for usage of operator poll with checking if
it was NULL.
* The settings of KeyingSets can now be viewed/modified through RNA.
* Shuffled RNA wrapping for AnimData over to its own file
* Moved insert-key flags to DNA_anim_types.h, as they're now used for KeyingSets.
* RNA_blender.h is now generated along with the other files. It is not
used anywhere yet, and still located quite hidden next to the other
rna_*_gen.c files. Read only access for now.
* Inherited properties are not copied from the base anymore but
iterated over. Patch by Vekoon, thanks!
* Array get/set callbacks now do the whole array instead of getting an
index. This is needed for some layers for example so python can set
the array as a whole, otherwise the check that one layer has to be
enabled at all times gets in the way. Also nicer for the C API.
* Also some changes to returning pointers to make the API cleaner, got
rid of the type() callback and instead let get() return PointerRNA
with the type included.
The C API looks like this currently:
http://users.pandora.be/blendix/RNA_blender.h
It's about time that the RNA wrapping for various parts of the animation system were cleaned up for my recent changes. I've moved some code around (and/or deleted a file or two) in the process.
* Work around bScreen/Screen DNA name patching, so bScreen does not
require manual callbacks to be written for properties.
* Added SpaceLink and SpaceImage RNA.
* Fix issue initializing ID property arrays with default values.
DNA
* Some DNA changes for space image.
* And a fix for corrupt clone image pointer in reading brushes.
* Finished DNA_lamp_types.h, DNA_world_types.h and DNA_sound_types.h.
* Renamed "parent" struct property to "nested", and also remaining "from"
usage to "base".
* Added a NEVER_NULL subtype for pointers and use it for all properties
that apply.
* Make sure all structs have a description, and fix any other DOC_BROKEN
descriptions, also many other naming consistency improvements.
* DNA_cloth_types.h, patch by Roelf de Kock. The gravity[3] member
is not being parsed correct by makesdna.c and will give issues
even when trying to fix it. Worked around it for now in RNA by
wrapping it manually, but this should really be fixed in the DNA
genetics code, added a comment about it in DNA_cloth_types.h.
* Handle vertex groups and uv layers more consistent now. They are
all exposed as strings now. Reason is that indices don't really
say much, and a direct pointer is not always possible because for
example a uv layer in a material can be used for multiple objects
and so there is no single pointer. In python it is not too hard
to use either since the strings works as a key for lookups.
For the user interface we can later think of some method to
generate popup menus in a way that works for vertex groups,
uv layers, bones etc.
* This also fixes the XXX's in rna_modifier.c, I think that can be
marked done.
* Object has some more properties wrapped, mostly game related.
* Scene frame changes now send a notifier.
* Added functions to create/free operator properties for calling
operators. This also simplifies some duplicated code that did
this. Ideally though this kind of thing should use the properties
pointer provided by buttons and keymap items. Example code:
PointerRNA ptr;
WM_operator_properties_create(&ptr, "SOME_OT_name");
RNA_int_set(&ptr, "value", 42);
WM_operator_name_call(C, "SOME_OT_name", WM_OP_EXEC_DEFAULT, &ptr);
WM_operator_properties_free(&ptr);
* DNA_object_fluidsim.h: done, patch by Nathaniel Garbutt, thanks!
Some changes to make it more complete and adding inheritance to
better hide irrelevant and reused properties.
* Also added all derived types for modifiers, but only fluid is
filled in currently.
* Some files converted from DOS to UNIX line endings.
* Added support for using pointers + collections as operator properties,
but with the restriction that they must point to other type derived from
ID property groups. The "add" function for these properties will allocate
a new ID property group and point to that.
* Added support for arrays with type IDP_GROUP in ID properties.
* Fix bug getting/setting float array values.
Example code for collections, note the "OperatorMousePath" type is defined
in rna_wm.c and has a float[2] property named "loc".
Defining the operator property:
prop= RNA_def_property(ot->srna, "path", PROP_COLLECTION, PROP_NONE);
RNA_def_property_struct_runtime(prop, &RNA_OperatorMousePath);
Adding values:
PointerRNA itemptr;
float loc[2] = {1, 1},
RNA_collection_add(op->ptr, "path", &itemptr);
RNA_float_set_array(&itemptr, "loc", loc);
Iterating:
RNA_BEGIN(op->ptr, itemptr, "path") {
float loc[2];
RNA_float_get_array(&itemptr, "loc", loc);
printf("Location: %f %f\n", loc[0], loc[1]);
}
RNA_END;
* DNA_sequence_types.h done, patch by Roelf de Kock, with various changes,
mainly the use of inheritance for different sequence types and hiding the
separate Strip struct.
