bcd1ab54cd Support for the C Macro system in Python.
Basic definition works like a python operator but you derive from "bpy.types.Macro" instead.
Operators are added to the macro after it has been added with "bpy.ops.add_macro" through the class method "define" which takes an operator id and returns an OperatorMacroType (new RNA type) for which properties can then be defined to be passed to the operator when run.

Using this system, it should be easy to add an operator to the console that converts selected lines into a macro or even a more generic record macro system.

c758f6589e Reset operator properties for keymap items when operator idname is changed.
This means added operators in the keymap editor will now show options correctly (maybe not for old .B25.blend)

11cfdfa264 === Better support for user defined modal keymaps ===
Fixing/Missing RNA properties:
- "virtual" property for "ANY" modifier for keymapitem
- modal property for keymap
- Look up modal_items in usermaps too

Lazy init usermaps needs to init modal_items too.

New function to initialize a user keymap (fill in modal_item and poll pointers).

Operator modal keymaps now look up if there's a user defined keymap that overwrites it.

Full Event UI buttons now show "Any" when modifier is set to that (instead of listing all of them).

Note: Having the modifiers as boolean still doesn't express the full breath of values possible for them. There is commented code in this commit to represent them as enum, which would solve this, but make the keymap editor more cryptic.

cb8f7fd385 Auto Save
Auto save is now working again in 2.5. It will also remember now what
the location of the original file was when recovering it, so that
library links still work and saving the restored file does not save to
the temp directory. There is also a new Recover Auto Save operator
which will open the filebrowser in the temp directory and show the
auto saved .blends.

Implemenation Notes:

* Timer storage was moved from window to windowmanager, so we can have
  windowmanager level timers too now, doesn't make sense to have
  autosave timer attached to a particular window.
* FileGlobal now has a filename field storing where the file was saved.
  Note that this is only used when loading a file through the recover
  operators, regular file read doesn't use it, so copying the quit.blend
  manually over the original file will still work as expected.
* Jobs timer no longer uses operator now, this seems more like an
  internal thing, changing keymaps should not make it possible to break
  the jobs manager.
* Autosave is postponed by 10 seconds when a modal operator is running,
  e.g. transform or file browsing.
* Moved setting G.sce in setup_app_data before depsgraph updates, these
  can use the filename for pointcaches.

69c6a33ba1 wrap the mouse within the region while grabbing so on release the current view never changes and less likelyhood of loosing the cursor when running blender on 2+ screens. (assuming the 3d view isnt stretched over both) 2009-10-17 19:32:28 +00:00
3ebd58673f Key Configuration
Keymaps are now saveable and configurable from the user preferences, note
that editing one item in a keymap means the whole keymap is now defined by
the user and will not be updated by Blender, an option for syncing might be
added later. The outliner interface is still there, but I will probably
remove it.

There's actually 3 levels now:

* Default builtin key configuration.
* Key configuration loaded from .py file, for configs like Blender 2.4x
  or other 3D applications.
* Keymaps edited by the user and saved in .B.blend. These can be saved
  to .py files as well to make creating distributable configurations
  easier.

Also, user preferences sections were reorganized a bit, now there is:
Interface, Editing, Input, Files and System.


Implementation notes:
* wmKeyConfig was added which represents a key configuration containing
  keymaps.
* wmKeymapItem was renamed to wmKeyMapItem for consistency with wmKeyMap.
* Modal maps are not wrapped yet.
* User preferences DNA file reading did not support newdataadr() yet,
  added this now for reading keymaps.
* Key configuration related settings are now RNA wrapped.
* is_property_set and is_property_hidden python methods were added.

ad7fab49d4 5 button mouse support from b333rt in IRC with some edits for X11.
Tested in X11 where its fairly confusing.
buttons 4 and 5 are used for the wheel which is well known, but it seems 6 and 7 are used for horizontal scrolling, my mouse assigns the extra 2 buttons to events 8 & 9.

So the X11 events used for buttons called 4&5 in blender are 8&9 in X11.

The mouse buttons can be re-ordered like this once xorg starts (swaps 6,7 with 8,9)
  xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 8 9 6 7"

Couldn't test Win32, Apple not supported.
If someone wants to add horizontal scrolling its quite easy.

* PROP_NEVER_NULL is now a flag instead of a subtype.
* It works for function parameters too now, so setting
  this flag can help avoid NULL checks in the function.
* Renamed LocalLamp to PointLamp, making it consistent
  with the UI name.
* Set icons for the different lamp struct types.

a3a414a631 Keyboard shortcuts
Made Mac-specific keys only appear on the Mac. This has the added benefit that it shows the Mac key shortcuts in menus.

Notifiers
---------

Various fixes for wrong use of notifiers, and some new notifiers
to make things a bit more clear and consistent, with two notable
changes:

* Geometry changes are now done with NC_GEOM, rather than
  NC_OBJECT|ND_GEOM_, so an object does need to be available.
* Space data now use NC_SPACE|ND_SPACE_*, instead of data
  notifiers or even NC_WINDOW in some cases. Note that NC_SPACE
  should only be used for notifying about changes in space data,
  we don't want to go back to allqueue(REDRAW..).

Depsgraph
---------

The dependency graph now has a different flush call:

DAG_object_flush_update(scene, ob, flag)
is replaced by:
DAG_id_flush_update(id, flag)

It still works basically the same, one difference is that it now
also accepts object data (e.g. Mesh), again to avoid requiring an
Object to be available. Other ID types will simply do nothing at
the moment.

I made some guidelines for how/when to do which kinds of updates
and notifiers. I can't specify totally exact how to make these
decisions, but these are basically the guidelines I use. So, new

f6682ab773 RNA: subtypes and units
* Reviewed subtypes, making them more specific and adding new ones.
* Subtypes now have an associated type of units (length, area, volume,
  mass, rotation, time, velocity, acceleration). These are not used
  yet anywhere.
* Centralized code that decides the name of array items based on
  subtype (XYZ, RGB), was copied in 3 places.
* RNA_def_float etc functions still need to be update, will do this
  later together with another change.

First step towards keymap editor!
Before getting too excited:
- doesn't save yet
- no rna properties can be defined
- no insert/remove keymap options yet
- no option yet to set 'key press/release'

But what does work;
- Keymap list is in outliner, new category 
  (Keymaps are listed in order as being created now)
- enable/disable a keymap entry: click on dot icon
- it displays python api names for ops
- browse new operator for keymap (menu button)
- set keymap to use other keys, mouse or tweak events
- four modifier key options

I first intent to test it all well, there are still
quite some modal map conflicts (like border select) and
there's problems assigning items to tweaks

Another issue is that a visual editor for keymaps might be
quite hard to use... the amount of data and options is just not
so fun for a buttons menu. There are ways to improve this though.
Maybe do this via a script?

7f55c3b89c RNA read-only wrapped wmEvent so python operators invoke functions
* 2 new enums event_value_items and event_type_items in RNA_enum_types.h
* WM_key_event_string now uses an RNA enum lookup rather then its own switch statement.
* moved wmEvent from WM_types.h into DNA_windowmanager_types.h
* added RNA_enum_identifier and RNA_enum_name to get strings from an enum value.

4cd24cf058 RNA
Merging changes made by Arystanbek in the soc-2009-kazanbas branch,
plus some things modified and added by me.

* The API files now all in the makesrna module, convention is to
  call them e.g. rna_mesh_api.c for rna_mesh.c. Note for visual
  studio build maintainers, the rna_*_api.c files are compiled as
  part of "makesrna", but do not have rna_*_gen.c generated as part
  of the library. SCons/cmake/make were updated.

* Added function flags FUNC_USE_CONTEXT and FUNC_USE_REPORTS, to
  allow RNA functions to get context and error reporting parameters
  optionally. Renamed FUNC_TYPESTATIC to FUNC_NO_SELF.

* RNA collections now have a pointer to add/remove FunctionRNA's, this
  isn't actually used anywhere yet, purpose is to make an alias
  main.meshes.add() for main.add_mesh() in python.

* Fixes to make autogenerating property set/get for multidimensional
  arrays work, though a 4x4 matrix will be exposed as a length 16
  one dimensional RNA array.

* Functions and properties added:
	* Main.add_mesh()
	* Main.remove_mesh()
	* Object.matrix
	* Object.create_render_mesh()
	* WindowManager.add_fileselect()

* Accept None as NULL pointers through python function calls.
* Added type callback for pointers back, it's useful still in
  some cases. Made Object.data editable using this, the pointer
  type varying based on object type.
* Wrap pin ID pointer in buttons space.
* Added subclasses for text and surface curve ID blocks, to
  organize data better and get proper icons.
* Added RNA_type_to_ID_code and ID_code_to_RNA_type functions.
* Update RNA_access.h with new RNA types.

07b3e41e18 Blender file selector support for setting multiple selected files/dirs which operators can use.
This allows the sequencers Add-Image strip to work like it does in 2.4x.

- as well as setting the "filename" operator property, operators can have collections called "files" and "dirs" which are set when available.
- RNA_OperatorFileListElement as new collection type, its a bit redundant since each item only has a "name" property but its needed since we don't have a string array type.
- the file selector now prints operators it runs.

Tested with python, adding a list of images works to the sequencer works.

  function to create/return an IDProperty.
* Wrapped PoseChannel ID properties.
* Note there is still no way to create ID Properties in 2.5, though
  the callback to get/create the initial group is now exposed through
  RNA_struct_idproperties.

284db61572 RNA: C API
* RNA_blender.h is now generated along with the other files. It is not
  used anywhere yet, and still located quite hidden next to the other
  rna_*_gen.c files. Read only access for now.
* Inherited properties are not copied from the base anymore but
  iterated over. Patch by Vekoon, thanks!
* Array get/set callbacks now do the whole array instead of getting an
  index. This is needed for some layers for example so python can set
  the array as a whole, otherwise the check that one layer has to be
  enabled at all times gets in the way. Also nicer for the C API.
* Also some changes to returning pointers to make the API cleaner, got
  rid of the type() callback and instead let get() return PointerRNA
  with the type included.

The C API looks like this currently:

* Renamed "parent" struct property to "nested", and also remaining "from"
  usage to "base".
* Added a NEVER_NULL subtype for pointers and use it for all properties
  that apply.
* Make sure all structs have a description, and fix any other DOC_BROKEN
  descriptions, also many other naming consistency improvements.

* Scene frame changes now send a notifier.
* Added functions to create/free operator properties for calling
  operators. This also simplifies some duplicated code that did
  this. Ideally though this kind of thing should use the properties
  pointer provided by buttons and keymap items. Example code:

* Added support for sending notifiers and updates when setting
  RNA properties. Per property, there is a notifier NC_/ND_ flag,
  and a function that is called. Currently only used for
  Object.loc/rot/size.
* RNA_property_update that does this is not automatically called
  in every _set function, it has do be done separate, and is being
  done by buttons with RNA data.
* Perhaps for python there could be a trick to accumulate these
  flags rather than update each time, though for now the python
  RNA code could just do them everytime. Did not add these calls
  in the python code yet because it needs context, not sure where
  to get that from?

* Fix bug accessing registered operator properties in the wm from the
  outliner.
* In the outliner, only use the RNA icon for RNA data, and use dot
  again for unknown icon.
* Also, show pointer properties data in the second column, and auto
  expand two levels when opening them.
* Added small RNA_struct_defined_properties function to get only the
  defined properties without builtin and undefined id properties
  (for py operators).

* Added support for using pointers + collections as operator properties,
  but with the restriction that they must point to other type derived from
  ID property groups. The "add" function for these properties will allocate
  a new ID property group and point to that.
* Added support for arrays with type IDP_GROUP in ID properties.
* Fix bug getting/setting float array values.

Example code for collections, note the "OperatorMousePath" type is defined
in rna_wm.c and has a float[2] property named "loc".


Defining the operator property:

04428d6750 added "description" and "readonly" properties to RNA Structs (also accessible via python)
Many descriptions are not written, grep for DOC_BROKEN if you have some spare time to write struct descriptions.

c1379f6613 UI:
* Added support for defining properties for operator buttons, with
  uiButGetOperatorPtrRNA. Needed to cleanup a hack that was there
  for operator properties in RNA, now a separate OperatorProperties
  type is used for storing operator properties, instead of being part
  of the Operator type itself.
* Allow selecting menu items with mouse release instead of press again.
* Fix some cases with hanging tooltips in the UI.

yet, but can be tested by replacing this line in space_outliner.c:

d48f4b6012 2.5: added support for setting RNA properties in keymap item,
which will then be set when the operator is called, example:

There is a hack I had to do here, since properties are defined
as member of wmOperator, will try to fix later, committing now
so it can be used already.

* Swap parameters in RNA_access.h functions to make it more
  consistent.
* Rename rna members for operators to wmOperatorType.srna, and
  wmOperator.ptr, to make the distincton a bit clearer.
• Removed the RNA_int_default and similar functions, they're too
  confusing. RNA_property_is_set can still be used to achieve
  the same goal.
* Add functions to create RNA pointers.

* More ID property support. What was already possible was showing
  ID properties as RNA properties. Now it is possible to define
  RNA properties and have an ID property automatically created the
  first time it is set (if not set it retuns the default).

* Added support for defining RNA structs and properties at runtime.
  This is useful for python and plugins, and could also be used
  for operators, not sure yet what is best there, they could be done
  in preprocess for speed, but not sure how to do that while keeping
  operator registration a single function.

* Added quick functions to get/set properties based on names, to be
  used for operators.

* Added some simple support for inheritance, was already doing this
  but having it as a feature simplifies things. Two things were added
  for this: when defining a struct you can give a 'from' struct whose
  properties will be copied, and structs like ID, operator, modifier,
  can define a refine callback that will return the more specific type
  of the struct like ID -> Object, Mesh, .. .

* Added simple windowmanager wrap with only the registered operators
  list, used for testing RNA for operators.
