This was due some strokes could be tagged and as the layer was locked, the strokes were not untagged and removed when all tagged strokes are removed.
The tagged strokes are used as temp ghost of the interpolation and removed at the end of the interpolation.
In some situations the stroke could be tagged and this tag was used to delete the interpolated strokes.
Now, the frames used as interpolated range are untagged before creating the interpolated strokes.
Follow up of b2ee1770d4 and 10c2254d41, part of T74432.
Now the area and region naming conventions should be less confusing.
Mostly a careful batch rename but had to do few smaller fixes.
Also ran clang-format on affected files.
Both the MS headers and blender headers define the HKEY
which gives all kind of inclusion order issues.
This diff renames all *KEY constants to EVT_*KEY to resolve
this conflict.

This commit is a full refactor of the grease pencil modules including Draw Engine, Modifiers, VFX, depsgraph update, improvements in operators and conversion of Sculpt and Weight paint tools to real brushes.
Also, a huge code cleanup has been done at all levels.
Thanks to @fclem for his work and yo @pepeland and @mendio for the testing and help in the development.

The old convention was easy to confuse with ScrArea.

This is mostly a batch rename with some manual fixing. Only single word
variable names are changed, no prefixed/suffixed names.
Brecht van Lommel and Campbell Barton both gave me a green light for
this convention change.
Also ran clan clang format on affected files.
When the final stroke was smaller than original stroke, the weights array must be resized, but by error the function used the original stroke pointer instead of the new stroke pointer and this corrupted the pointers.
There was a mix of old and new constants. Now have one list of WM_CURSOR_*
cursor types, using GHOST standard cursors when available and otherwise falling
back to our custom cursors.

This change makes it so current frame is queried from a scene rather
than from a dependency graph. This makes it possible to avoid the
fact that dependency graph might not be fully evaluated yet.
There are still some cases where it frame is queried from the graph,
but those seems to be in a code path where we need to ensure valid
dependency graph anyway.

Cheap tip: anything that is not "Camel Case" and/or that is more than
a few words long should use `TIP_` translation, not `IFACE_` one.
Also added several missing strings (including the one reported in D5056
by Jean First (@robbott), thanks).
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful,
to reduce noise.

The GP_STROKE_RECALC_CACHE identifier was changed to GP_STROKE_RECALC_GEOMETRY because the previous name was confusing and could be confused with the recalculation of the Draw Manager cache.
There were at least three copies of those:
- OB_RECALC* family of flags, which are rudiment of an old
dependency graph system.
- PSYS_RECALC* which were used by old dependency graph system
as a separate set since the graph itself did not handle
particle systems.
- DEG_TAG_* which was used to tag IDs.
Now there is a single set, which defines what can be tagged
and queried for an update. It also has some aggregate flags
to make queries simpler.
Lets once and for all solve the madness of those flags, stick
to a single set, which will not overlap with anything or require
any extra conversion.
Technically, shouldn't be measurable user difference, but some
of the agregate flags for few dependency graph components did
change.
Fixes T58632: Particle don't update rotation settings
Before, the weight data array was created always, but now only is added when a weight value is assigned.
This change was suggested by algorithm, and both agreed it was good idea.
This commit merge the full development done in greasepencil-object branch and include mainly the following features.
- New grease pencil object.
- New drawing engine.
- New grease pencil modes Draw/Sculpt/Edit and Weight Paint.
- New brushes for grease pencil.
- New modifiers for grease pencil.
- New shaders FX.
- New material system (replace old palettes and colors).
- Split of annotations (old grease pencil) and new grease pencil object.
- UI adapted to blender 2.8.

Key shortcuts and explanation about how to use the tool should go to the
status bar, but other info can in the header so it's near where the user
is working. This distinction has not been made yet for all operators.
For example, if you have two keyframes:
k1 = 1px, k2 = 10px
it was doing:
1px, 9px, 8px, ..., 3px, 2px, 10px
instead of:
1px, 2px, 3px, ..., 8px, 9px, 10px
To make it faster to try different interpolation curves, there's a new operator
"Remove Breakdowns" which will delete all breakdowns sandwiched by normal
keyframes (i.e. all the ones that the previous run of the Interpolation op created)
This commit introduces the ability to use the Robert Penner easing equations
or a Custom Curve to control the way that the "Interpolate Sequence" operator
interpolates between keyframes. Previously, it was only possible to get linear
interpolation between the gp frames.
Workflow:
1) Place current frame between a pair of GP keyframes
2) Open the "Interpolate" panel in the Toolshelf
3) Choose the interpolation type (under "Sequence Options")
4) Adjust settings (e.g. if you're using "Custom Curve", use the curvemap widget
to define the way that the interpolation proceeds)
5) Click "Sequence" to interpolate
6) Play back/scrub the animation to see if you've got the result you want
7) If you need to make some tweaks, undo, or delete the generated keyframes,
then repeat the process again from step 4 until you've got the desired result.
The "gp_sculpt" settings should be strictly for stroke sculpting, and not abused by
other tools. (Similarly, if other general GP tools need one-off options, those should
go into the normal toolsettings->gpencil_flag)
Furthermore, this paves the way for introducing new settings for controlling the way
that GP interpolation takes place (e.g. with easing equations, or a custom curvemap)
