Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: NVidia 1060 6GB

Blender 2.8 beta
Broken: 2018-12-07 04:54 as found on splash screen

Blender crashes when I try to import complicated collections of assets designed for earlier versions of blender.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Download .blend file
  2. Open a new (blank) blend file
  3. Go to File -> Append
  4. Select the collection inside the downloaded file and press Append

DISCLAIMER: This file is not mine, it was produced by Blender Guru. It was distributed for free as an example of the Grass Essentials, so I figured it would be ok to upload.

I couldn't reproduce this on e79bb957fc3 on Windows. Try a newer version, that one is two days old.
