System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22621-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 527.56

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.5.0, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-03-29 02:56, hash: 1be25cfff18b
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
When using Rigify, automatic weights are worse on the .R side compared to .L when parenting a symmetrical mesh. It is very noticeable in the arms and fingers.

The expected result on a symmetrical mesh would be weights of equal quality. This is ok when using a single mesh (because of symmetrise), but it's a problem when using multiple character pieces.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Generate a Rigify rig.
Create a cube.
In Edit Mode, position the cube along an arm (from shoulder to finger tip) and subdivide with a factor of 6.
In Object Mode, duplicate the cube and place it symmetrically onto the opposite arm.
Parent the two cubes to the rig with Automatic Weights.
In Pose Mode, bend the arms using the IK hand controls.

See attached blend file.
