Short description of error
when we add single vertex (using extra objects addon) blender remains in previous mode like face/edge mode which require extra step of going to vertex mode and then do extrusion work

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Open default scene
Switch to edit mode
Shift-A -> Single vert -> Add Single vert`

It maybe a good idea to switch select-mode when adding a single vertex.

It still remains in previous mode even in blender 4.1.
The first option of this page should be comment and second option should be comment and close. because it is an obvious habit to click first object.
