I have been following this tutorial on YouTube:

and created this file:

20230617_loop_tools_loft_do_not_work_0001.blend

Here are the two images of screenshots I took, first the setup planes:

Then in the edit mode, pressing Loft and this is what I got:

I don't think this is the result I was expecting. I was expecting only surfaces shown are connected
