Worked: none
Addon Information
Name: Material Library (0, 6, 0)
Author: Mackraken
Short description of error
creating a new library causes Blender to hang until I force it to quit
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
open a blank file,
select the cube
go to Materials
go to Materials Library VX
select new Library
type in a name
hit enter
and wait forever......
Hi, thanks for the report. Could it because the materials those libraries contains are incompatible with Metal backend?
Does it work after switching to OpenGL backend?
For me, even with Metal changed over to OpenGL -
I select "New Library" and wait, and wait..... then blender becomes "Unresponsive" for a while or crashes.
It does actually create the "Blend" file in the "Matlib" folder, but gets stuck in a loop somewhere and never returns.
Thanks. @iss , can you replicate this on Mac?
iMac is the machine I have and am having this problem on.... (Specs in the opening note on top of this page)
Can't reproduce on
Operating system: macOS-13.4-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: Metal API AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 1.2
Then, I assume I'll have to go through each of my addons until I find a culprit....
I'm having the same problem on an M1 Macbook Pro. Whenever I try to even open something in the template library, it crashes Blender. I can't take a screenshot and have it crash at the same time, so I attached a photo I took with my phone.
Here are my settings:
System Information
Operating system: macOS-13.4.1-arm64-arm-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: Metal API Apple M1 Max 1.2
Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.6.2, branch: blender-v3.6-release, commit date: 2023-08-16 16:43, hash:
e53e55951e7a
It was working okay in 3.6.1.
Any updates on this?
I am sorry, no, I have not had a chance - nor needed it enough, to take the considerable time required....
