Hi, thanks for the report. Curve pen tool was added in 3.0 release and it's not tool from curve tools add-on: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/curves/tools/pen.html

Maybe you're experiencing different issue but information is not sufficient for us to understand it. Could you expand more on the problem?
