I'm trying to get viewer node, the only way I found is to add "Node: Node Wrangler", but even the shortcut isn't there, also the viewer node I couldn't found even when I'm searching manually at the shader editor.
When I searched more I found that the shortcut of my wrangler is for "Ctrl+Shift+LMP" is for "Preview Node Output" not "Connect to Cycles Viewer node", in the folloing images you can get what I mean, the orange one is mine, the other is what I found.
I'm trying to find how to get the viewer node, I didn't found another way than add Node: Node Wranglerto I'm trying to find how to get the viewer nodeHi, the operator was renamed to "Preview Node Output" back in 2.93, about three years ago, but they are the same thing. The screenshot you found is from an old version. Does the shortcut do what you want, regardless of its name?
when I wrote the issue here it was changing between nodes with last node but today I don't know how but it worked but like the first image, is there a special way to deal with it? because when I was searching I found that when click on it it appear like the second image.
First image is Geometry Nodes, second one is shading nodes. More information here.
Closing as this is working as expected.
Thanks for the report!
Thank you for the note, it changing between nodes as it shown in the video in the shader editor.
Yes, that is the expected behaviour as this operation is used to plug the selected node to the output in order to see the effect of that node. What behaviour are you expecting? There is no actual viewer node in shader mode, so the material output is used instead.
So how it works for this one?
This is from an old version when you could only plug BSDF nodes into the output, so Node Wrangler had to create an emission node and called it Viewer. It is no longer the case.
Oh got it, that's bad, is there any way gives the same result?
Yes, connecting to the Output node gives the same result.
Oh thats it!
Thank you so much, hope you get one billion today.
