Short description of error
Trying to install add-on zip i downloaded and it is stating that there are no rigs, metarigs or py files but i have all that in the zip i downloaded. I'm new to all this too so it could be user error

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Edit - addons - install - click on zip file - error message stating there are no rigs, metarigs or py files

Hi, in case you still need help: you try to install the addon Rigify Animbox (probably from https://blenderartists.org/t/rigify-animbox-animation/1248691).

From your screenhsots i assume you pressed the button Install Feature Set from file in the Rigify addons settings. Rigify Animbox is an extra addon not a feature set for Rigify. If you click the install button on top (next to the refresh button) it should work just fine.
