Short description of error
[Measureit tool does not work in object mode and edit mode as well]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[I click on the tool and then with left mouse click I see absolutly nothing, no effect, as if the tool is inactive when I want to measure the distance between my camera and an object ]

Have you tried a newer point release for the 3.6 series?
I couldn't reproduce the error with 3.6.5 on OSX.
