System Information
Operating system: Win 10-1809
Graphics card: NVidia GeForce GTX 960M
Blender Version
Broken: blender-2.80-779860d34e26-win64
Short description of error
When creating an object in orthographic view the align to view check box simply deselects the object rather than changing its orientation.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
(steps taken in attached gif) Open Blender -> press NUM1 to change to front orthographic -> create object -> open the object parameter box and click 'Align to View' checkbox.

I can't reproduce the issue. It works as expected for me. Can you check if the issue still exists in the newest build?
In general, please do not store video recordings like this one in .gif files. That is veeery inefficient. Maybe you want to use this software to make screen recordings in the future: https://obsproject.com/
Sorry about the giant gif
I did a factory reset of Blender with Load Factory Settings and the issue went away. I'm assuming that it may have been a conflict with something but I don't know what.
