System Information
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10
Graphics card: Quadro P600

Blender Version 2.83.3
Broken:

Worked: (optional)

Short description of error

I am trying to export a VRML /wrl file. I know that these files are out of date, but I'm a 3D printer/3D artist and I'm using a new 3D printer (Stratasys J55 Pantone Color Accurate) that can use a wrl file to map textures, and color accurate information to a resin printer. It imports files via GrabCadPrint and requires a wrl file in order to pass the UV map, image, and bitmap for color accurate textured printing. I enabled the add-on Import-Export X3D, Import VRML2, but that doesn't enable VRML2 exporting. However, I know I saw on a GrabCadPrint youtube video ( https:*www.youtube.com/watch?v=n39QpgJOvWo or the grabcad forum url https:*grabcad.com/tutorials/how-to-convert-obj-files-to-vrml-in-blender ) that Blender used to have an add-on called Import-Export VRML2(Virtual Reality Modeling Language 2). Does this add-on no longer exist? Could an older version of the add-on from Blender 2.7 still work, maybe I can get an old script of the VRML2 exporting and install that locally ...? I just know since this printer got released recently (last 2 months) there are likely to be other people who have or will have the same problemand enjoy working in Blender like I do. And rather than moving to Zbrush or some other program that still supports VRML exports if Blender could re-enable that add-on, write a python script for the current of Blender I know there would be users who would benefit.

I wish that GrabCadPrint supported other file systems but the only one that enables color and texture mapping to be 3D printed is the wrl. I hope that all made sense, thanks so much.

Robert

For anyone getting here, wondering how to export full colour model from Blender to GrabCAD Print - here is a working solution:
Export to .obj, make sure you have .mtl and texture files together with the model, then import to GrabCAD Print.

See: https://grabcad.com/tutorials/how-to-use-blender-3d-software-with-grabcad-print

3DPrint by 3DSystems also doesn't accept obj files. I don't understand why Blender would remove support for exporting this format. Why not even enable me to allow it as an add on again? It requires a round trip instead.

FYI, ZBrush recognises the necessity of VRML export for colour 3D printing by professionals.
