System Information
Operating system: macOS-11.6.5-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel Iris OpenGL Engine Intel Inc. 4.1 INTEL-16.5.9

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.2, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-31 17:40, hash: blender/blender@cc66d1020c
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Addon Information
Name: Archimesh (1, 2, 2)
Author: Antonio Vazquez (antonioya)

Short description of error
Archimesh stairs context menu dissapears

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on default startup I can recreate this error every time.
Once I add the Archimesh stairs, a context menu appears and I can edit the number of steps, etc.
Once I deselect the object (click outside the stairs) and select the object again (still in Object mode), the context menu disappears. I cannot edit for example number of steps anymore.

This is not a bug. The panel you are referring to is called the Adjust Last Operation panel and it only appears directly after the execution of an operator. Once you perform another action, it will disappear or switch to the properties of the operator you've run afterwards. This is how operators work in general and also applies to e.g. objects created through*Add > Mesh//.

Thanks for your fast response!

The Adjust Last Operation panel was the only place where I was able to find the Stairs properties. For an Archimesh Door, I can find the properties under the Create tab. For the Stairs I am not able to find it...

Some add-ons may permit configuration in its panels prior to the execution of an operator, but that depends on the design decisions made by the add-on developer. Any suggested changes to how the Archimesh add-on currently works would be a feature request though and the bug tracker is not the right place for those.

Hi Robert, I see different behaviour in older versions on Youtube where Stairs properties (like # steps) are visible after the object is added to the scene. I do not see the properties where I was expecting them (same location as the properties for an Archimesh Room for example) so concluded it was a bug.

I still don't know where to find them, I just purchased the PRO version, but no luck there either. Think it might be a version issue (running Blender 3.1.2) and might want to downgrade to see if that works. Looked in the documentation also, but documentation does not show where properties can be found. I will continue to search for it, perhaps open a support ticket.

For anyone reading this: I found out that Archipack is currently not fully functional under Blender 3.1+ - this was mentioned on the Discord Archipack support channel. I downgraded to Blender 3.0 and properties are now visible. All works fine now!

@boyblunder Archipack and Archimesh are two different add-ons. Archimesh, for which you've created the report, displays the properties in Blender 3.1.2 like it does in previous versions, e.g. in Blender 2.81, as far as I can tell. Archimesh is still distributed with Blender in 3.1.2 while Archipack is not.

If you have issues with third-party add-ons that are not distributed with Blender, then please contact the developer of the add-on. Unfortunately, we do not provide support for those on the bug tracker.

If you believe there is a bug in Archimesh, then please show what specific settings / functionality is missing. You can add screenshots to your bug report by clicking on the upload button as shown in the screenshot below or via drag and drop.

Very valid point regarding Archimesh vs Archipack, thanks.

First screenshot (of Archimesh) shows properties for the Door after I created it. Second screenshot shows properties for the Stairs in the same place where I would expect the properties (like number of steps), but I cannot find them there. I am not sure if it is expected behaviour or not / related to UX. Point is: I cannot find the "# steps" properties anywere and they are not where I expected them. This is Blender 3.0 by the way and Archimesh 1.2.2. In youtube videos I see te properties can be adjusted after stairs are created, but they were in a different panel in that version (which I cannot find in version 1.2.2).

You can modify the steps in the Adjust Last Operation panel, but the add-on does not provide the option to modify them later on like it does for rooms. Other object types such as shelves do not provide such options either. This is how the add-on works since many versions and is intentional, even if the UX is inconsistent.

I'm not sure which videos you are referring to, please post a link.
