Delete Branch "%!s(<nil>)"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

The official effort by the blender foundation for a normal edit modifier is not very useful and is very limited since you can only direct the normals of a mesh towards another object's position in space.
The unofficial normal edit modifier can TRANSFER the normals of one mesh onto another. That is a much better way of doing it- it takes much less effort and you can be very specific on how you want your normals.
Blender 2.71.1 + MOD_normaledit
Are there any plans of implementing a normals TRANSFER modifier?

Now if we can keep the normals of imported meshes and stop blender from recalculating them, that would be great :D
That’s already the case for FBX. Other import addons need to be updated.
