Baking boid particles crashes Blender #101470

System Information
Operating system: Windows 11
Graphics card: RTX 2070

Blender Version
Broken: c64d3a692d (it is also broken in 3.3.0)

Short description of error

I do have a production scene where I need to bake particles for the whole frame range. Blender crashes whenever I try to bake the particles. Unfortunately I can neither provide the scene nor I am able to repeat it with a simple scene, however the crash log seems to indicate the issue.

It seems to me that this is more coming from the boids system. Blender does not crash if I delete the object with the boids system.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Add multiple particle system with many collection objects that utilizes the boids and the newtonian models.
Bake

Load the attached file
Particle tab -> Cache -> Bake

Take a look at the crash log

Can you still attach a minimal file that is as close as possible to the setup you have in your original file, even if it doesn't crash?
Such a file could help in debugging this as a crash log is probably not enough.

Bake operation did not trigger the crash for me in 3.3 as well as current master.

Thanks for testing it. I think this is related to https://developer.blender.org/T89011

@DanielGrauer Do you know this is still and issue with the GoB add-on?

You can try it again after installing this add-on https://github.com/JoseConseco/GoB I am not sure if this is an add-on issue or an API issue at this point.
