System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19044-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 517.40

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.3.1, branch: master, commit date: 2022-10-04 18:35, hash: b292cfe5a9
Worked:

Short description of error
With audio scrubbing enabled and sync set to 'sync to audio'. When I move my playhead to another place on the timeline and quickly press space, it plays one frame and pauses, instead of just playing through.

It seems that with these two settings enabled, blender tries to play one frame every time you move the playhead. But since there is a tiny bit of lag before it actually does that, you can press spacebar before it plays this one frame. After playing this one frame it pauses again. So this first spacebar hit doesn't do anything. But to make it worse, half the times this happens it still thinks it's playing and "anim player" is also displayed at the bottom. So I have to press space to "pause" it again and THEN I can finally press space to play. A bit of a clunky experience.

It doesn't seem to do this with other sync configurations.
I jump around like this all the time so it was time for a bug report.
Thanks in advance! You people rock!

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open a 2d workspace. In the timeline editor, open the playback menu. Set the sync to "sync to audio" and enable "scrubbing". image.png
Click somewhere on the timeline (where the frame numbers are displayed) and directly press space. Even though nothing is added to the file yet, you can see that the playhead advances one frame and then stops. Sometimes "Anim player" is still displayed on the bottom of the screen.
It might take a few tries! You gotta be quick.

Thanks!

I can confirm the problem. I had to be really quick between choosing a frame and pressing Spacebar.

In fact it seems that there is a small gap where the operator called with the Spacebar doesn't work and this can get in the way of the workflow a bit.
