System Information
Operating system: macOS-13.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT OpenGL Engine ATI Technologies Inc. 4.1 ATI-4.9.48

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.4.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2022-11-02 02:20, hash: ????????
Worked: 3.4.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2022-11-01 01:24, hash: afc091c3c4

Short description of error
After blender opens, as soon as you right click, shif+a, or anything else in the viewport, blender quits instantly.

ALSO noticed the last 3 builds blender takes twice as long to startup.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I compiled after the commit from : Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) Cleanup: format 5a90bbf71675· on Wed, Nov 2, 1:20 AM.
and opened blender and tried to shift+a to get a primitive. Then after a restart I tried a right mouse click in the viewport. Last thing I tried was to click the 'report a bug' button, but blender quit when accessing the top menue like in the other cases before.

When did you upgrade your Mac to "Ventura"?

On the MacMini M1 everything seems to be ok.

my ##master## branch goes as far as here:

On the 26 Oct 2022 I updated to Ventura for my INTEL iMac
Since then I was able to compile a working blender 3.4 till VERSION: 3.4.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2022-11-01 01:24, hash: afc091c3c4
After this blender version blender only quits when clicking the viewport or press keys like shift+a ...
I restarted the mac and also deleted the build darwin folder and recompiled via 'make update && make' like usual.
Same for the 3.4 folder for the config, datafiles and scripts. Removed + restarted.... no luck!
All on factory settings...

LazyDodo helped me through the process and everything was fine until after the commit from : Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) Cleanup: format 5a90bbf71675· on Wed, Nov 2, 1:20 AM.
Since then I tried to compile every 6 hours, but always the same.

Tried Blender-3.4.0 2022-11-02 from today's latest Alpha and it crashes with nearly everything I try to do using this 2019 Intel iMac with Ventura: 3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5, Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4. I opened this version and immediately clicked Help to get to the Bug window to report the crashes and it CRASHED before opening the help.

My suggestion is that this hardware is not what a serious user would have and I had no problems with Version 3.2, so I suggest concentrating on the Apple M1 & 2 processors going forward. Another reason underscores this reasoning: it only works with EEVEE because Cycle overheats the processor within a few minutes of attempting a render!
