Short description of error
Insert Face (Push the " i " key and select crash guide

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Open Blender 3.5.0 Alpha
  2. Create new mesh > cube.
  3. Edit mode
  4. Vertex change to Face
  5. select 1 face
  6. Push the " i " key and move a little then push the esc key
  7. Push the Shift + click other face
  8. Push the " i " key and move a little then push the esc key
  9. Push the Shift + click other face
  10. Push the " i " key and move a little then push the esc key
    11 Push the Shift + click other face
  11. Push the " i " key and move a little then push the esc key

Hi, thanks for the report. It seems crash is occurring with Metal backend only.
@Michael-Parkin-White-Apple, can you repro the crash as shown in video?

I actually hit a slightly different crash while attempting this, but will attempt to see if I can get the original error to show.
