System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22621-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1060/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 461.40

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.4.0, branch: blender-v3.4-release, commit date: 2022-12-06 18:46, hash: rBa95bf1ac01be
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Blender crashes every time I try to delete vertices of this object.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I imported this object from .obj source. I see some unusual edges on it, but I can't fix it. Blender crashes when I try to delete edges or vertices.

  • Use the new OBJ importer to import screw.obj

  • This will cause crashes without first validating the mesh

  • Compared with the old OBJ importer, which doesn't crash as it always validates, there are also rogue edges present that are not cleaned up after validating the mesh

The mesh does seem corrupted. You can fix it by doing the following:

  • Go to Object mode in your file
  • Switch to the Scripting tab and make sure the object is selected
  • Execute the following C.active_object.data.validate(verbose=True) in the Python console

In order for us to potentially fix the underlying issue however we need more information. Can you provide the following:

  • The original .obj file you used
  • Which importer did you use? Did you use "Wavefront (.obj) (legacy)" or did you use "Wavefront (.obj)"?

Thank you very much! It works! I used Wavefront(.obj)
Here you are, I've attached the orginal object

@aras_p Are you able to take a look? Validating the mesh does fix the crash but there appears to be other odd Edges remaining in the mesh that are not present using the Pyhon importer. Unsure if those might be related to the crash.
