System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 3070
Blender Version
v3.4.1
Broken: (Mirror paste animation using a Rigify rig)
Worked: (unknown)
Short description of error
Trying to use mirror paste causes errors instead of working properly.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open file: Red walk cycle no mirror.blend
Select right foot and toe, Copy keyframe animation.
Use mirror paste Control+Shift V
At this stage either only parts of the mirror works or it pastes on the same side(right) Never got it to work properly.
This seems to be an addon issues and should be moved to the addon repository?
Not an addon issue!
Any rig will do I'm just being precise in what I used.
I found the issue, the mirror paste animation is a basic Blender function, yet it doesn't behave like other similar functions. Requiring needless additional steps to work.
If you want to flip a bone animation to the other side, you select the R bones with the desire to have the keyframes of the animation to affect the L side equivalent bones.
But it doesn't work because the user neededless needs to select the equivalent mirrored bones. Why? There is no need for this extra step of selecting the equivalent mirrored bones on the L side. This should happen without having to select anything as the mirrored side has already been selected on the R side. Also, needing to place a keyframe on the L side for the operation to work is also a needless requirement.
To me it looks same as https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/191016/while-trying-to-make-a-walk-run-animation-ctrlshiftv-doesnt-work-correctly/. Can you check if this solves your issue?
