System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22621-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 528.49

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.5.0 Release Candidate, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-03-24 13:18, hash: d5d8246441a5
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Random crashes after using viewport shading in render mode using Cycles

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
It's difficult to tell what's triggering this crash. One time it happened after I switched from render mode using Cycles, and with a mesh selected, I entered the edit mode.
Blender suddenly crashed, and simply closed.

Tonight, I switched from render mode, still using Cycles, and then I pressed CTRL + N to create a new file, and the crashed happened.

Not sure if the logs can be of any help, but in case, logs attached.

Hi, thanks for the report. Can you share the file in which crash is happening?
From call stack I suspect this as same issue: #100620
Disable GPU subdivision and see whether it avoids the crash: Edit > Preferences > Viewport > Subdivision > GPU Subdivision

Thanks, @PratikPB2123

I disabled GPU subdivision and did another test. Right after I switched from render mode to solid mode, and then I tried to create a new file, Blender quit unexpectedly.

Then, I've updated the Nvidia driver to the latest 531.41, and it seems the issue is not happening anymore.

But now another scene, which I'm attaching, is causing Blender to freeze.
When I start the viewport render, the moment I start panning around in the viewport, or I add a new node to the material, Blender freezes.
That said, I'm not sure if this is related to the previous issue, or if it's something else.

Never mind, it seems to be related to the auto-exposure from the Photographer add-on.

Thanks, will close this report if external add-on is responsible for crash.

@PratikPB2123 Sorry to reopen this, but I tested the other scene that was causing Blender to suddenly close, and it's indeed crashing again.

I have attached a screen record, the log, and a test file.

And I can confirm, this is not happening with Blender 3.4.1

Hi, recent crash file indicates the asset system responsible for the crash.
This is different than the previous two crash senarios. Please create a new report, provide precise steps for reproducing the crash.
