On the left, Eyedopper gives incorrect colors, so if I add a picture (image as planes), the color is much lighter #106170

In 2D animation, I add an image (image as a planes), I select Exedopper on the left, I press a ctrl shift and it creates the color, but it has nothing to do with the original and I can't figure out what's wrong.

Can you attach an example .blend file where this happens (the image that is used should be included/packed as well)?

Hi, I can confirm. Guess the specular value of Principled BSDF node is affecting the sampling value. I don't think this is a bug because the object shader gets affected by the scene lights, world shader. hence the sampling value will be different.
Workaround is:

  • Plug image texture directly to surface output and use color-picker
  • Pick color value from image editor

This commit is in 3.3.5 LTS

@ivanpetergabor : could you check if this is working fine for you in 3.3.5? You can get it here https://www.blender.org/download/lts/3-3/

That being said, color picking unfortunately seems completely broken for me in 3.5 and 3.6, will check on this, but for now would like an answer from @ivanpetergabor regarding 3.3.5

I reported this in #106264, but since this is irrelevant for Windows, you could also just test 3.5 / 3.6 builds from https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/ @ivanpetergabor
