Short description of error
Extra random faces appear in the UV Layout editor
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
On Cage - Adjust edit cage to modifier result
on the SubSurf modifier.In the attached file, toggle from face select mode to vertex select mode and back to face select mode. (Might have to repeat 5-6 times) Extra faces appear in the UV Layout editor. Also see here: [https://blenderartists.org/t/ghost-faces-while-working-with-uv-layout/1457172]

I had to toggle from face select to vertex select and back maybe 10x, then the problem appeared again.
Reminds me of #104652 [which should be fixed in 3.5 already though]
But I can also reproduce this.

is off, the affect doesn't appears as bad, but I still see the face dots. With it on, it appears to make the amount of face dots increase.Additionally, when I move UV islands around in the UV Layout editor, the location & number of face dots completely change randomly. Some faces are selected, some are not.
It does not happen at all if I turn off
