macOS Monterey 12.6.4 (21G526)

Graphics card:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB / Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
AMD FirePro D500 3 GB

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB / Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Mac Pro (Late 2013)
2,7 GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5
64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3
AMD FirePro D500 3 GB

Blender Version
Broken: 3.6.0, 3681ed377b, Main, 04-07-2023
Worked: 3.6.0, d34abea26a, Main, 04-06-2023

Short description of error

Eevee/Viewport Shading won't work as expected on OpenGL GPU Backend, details below:

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Open Blender.
Preferences, System, select GPU Backend: OpenGL, Save Preferences, Close Blender.
Relaunch Blender.
Default cube scene.
Get this weird behaviour on the default Viewport Shading: Solid, where the default cube appears in multicolor shades depending on angle of view when you orbit viewport around the cube.

Then, if you change Viewport Shading to either Material Preview or Rendered, the cube disappears.

Thanks for the report. This seems like a graphic driver issue. Please double-check if the drivers are up to date and the hardware meets Blender's requirements: https://www.blender.org/download/requirements

To upgrade to the latest driver, see here for more information: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html

I'll add that I'm also able to confirm this issue on Apple Silicon MacBooks running OpenGL and appears to be a regression which has been introduced recently in the last few days due to another change.

As a result, I'd be inclined to say that there is possibly an amount of undefined behaviour being hit somewhere. Perhaps memory stomping, missing zero initialisation being exposed, that kind of thing?

My current machine for reference (macOS 13.3, MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro)

I can confirm OpenGL backend was fixed by #106887 on my Mac Pro (Late 2013), AMD FirePro D500, macOS Monterey 12.6.4. Thank you everyone!!
