System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 516.94

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.5.1, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-04-24 18:11, hash: e1ccd9d4a1d3
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Hair essentials is missing in Asset Manager, if preferences are imported from 3.3. Though it's visible in Assets Tab, in both Essential and current file when we open procedural_hair_node_assets.blend, but NOT in other Asset Manager tab we could add.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Install new Blender 3.5.1 version, copy preferences from previous version,
Go to asset manager tab, or create a new one
Choose Essentials library
Hair and subsections are empty

Hi, thanks for the report. unable to confirm when I load 3.4 preferences to 3.5
Did you see any error reported in console window?

copy preferences from previous version,

How you're copying BTW? I deleted 3.5 folder from prefs and loaded previous settings from splash screen.

Hi, Thanks for your answer.
I just managed to solve the problem : by loading 3.3 settings from splash screen, and create a new workspace with Asset Browser in it.
In my previous 3.3 settings, I had created a dedicated workspace tab, named Asset Manager, which is not able to display the Essential hair library.
By creating a new workspace, with Asset Browser in it, and deleting the old "Asset Manager" tab, everything is ok !

For information :
I tested with "load 3.3 settings" from splash screen, same thing with 3.4 I just downloaded.
I don't have any errors in console window. Only some warnings concerning some addons ( no PT , no upper case alpha-numeric, or 'bgl.glEnable' is deprecated).

Edit : much more simple : In the Asset Browser filters, "Node Trees" was unchecked for some reason in my previous Blender Version

okay, so this issue is appearing when you've custom startup file (with additional asset browser workspace)
I tried to redo this locally but still unable to confirm the issue.
Custom Startup file of 3.3 might help here to reproduce the bug.

Maybe we can close this report since you've found the cause of the issue.

Here is my 3.3 startup file, with Node Tree uncheck in asset Manager tab, which caused the problem.
Yes you can close this report,
Thank you for your help !
