Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 525.105.17

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.3.6, branch: master, commit date: 2023-04-17 14:03, hash: 948f8298b982
Broken: version: 3.5.1, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-04-24 18:11, hash: e1ccd9d4a1d3

Short description of error
Overriding a linked armature with bone constraints makes bone constraints editable but saving and re-opening the file displays the constraint as not fully editable but overridden. This is confusing and source of mistakes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Link Armature object from the given file: rig.blend
  • In outliner, right click on it and Library Override > Make > Selected
  • Have a look to the Properties panel, under Bone Constraint, the constraint appears editable: Screenshot from 2023-05-19 09-57-36.png
  • Save your file, and click on Revert
  • The constraint appears now as not fully editable but overridable: Screenshot from 2023-05-19 09-58-45.png

NB: you can also rename the constraint by adding "Test": Screenshot from 2023-05-19 09-58-45.png
Saving and reverting will duplicate the constraint, which is a strange behaviour and not what the UI suggests will happen.

Curious that in my case the constraints are not even appearing.

Are the steps really complete and is the file the right one?

Hi, I've made first step clearer. have you tried to link from rig.blend the Armature object (not the Armature type)?
I can confirm the file is the right one.

Oh, that was my mistake! Thanks for the info. I can confirm the problem now.
