Exporting DAE of FBX with Textures don't work at all on mac. #108119

HASH : a95bf1ac01 (we can't copy and paste that ?)

Export with texture don't work

So I can save manually one by one the texture without problem.
But like in PAST, when i wanted to export the DAE file + Texture, it was to work fine, I did a test today with a file of 2015, but path mode copy, textures enabled, and nothing.
With my DAE same, nothing.
So imagine to save 40 textures one by one, it's just a nightmare.
I don't get why it was simple in past and to work and now it's complicated and don't even work.

Hi, thanks for the report. I did not enough understand the exact issue you're experiencing.
You mean textures are not referenced/store correctly when fbx file is imported in new scene?
I believe it's add-on specific issue (FBX)? In such case, we should move this report to add-ons repository: https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender-addons/issues

Hi, it's not about a ADD-ONS, but just the FBX or DAE don't export any textures when the previous version 2.79 were able to do that

I'm not able to confirm this locally. Could you share .blend if this happens in particular file?

Yes but I imported back the "exported" file in blender to verify the presence of texture.

Well my problem still not fixed, why do when need to save all textures one by one, it's stupid, on substance painter when I need to export my texture, we have those options "export" and all are exported in a row, the baking export is just a big mess on blender.

I can also not reproduce this (or at least it would need some clarification)

So here is what works on my end:

  • I paint/bake a couple of images
  • I save these (next to the .blend file or somewhere else) OR I pack them
  • I export to FBX (with Path Mode Copy, Embed Textures ON)
  • exported FBX has the textures embeded

So it does not work when these images are not saved prior to the export (OR if they are not packed). Is this was this report is about?
If so: I dont see this working in 2.79 either.

So in order to have this as quickly as possible, couldnt you just pack all 40 and then export?
