Blender crashes intermittently during render since new GPU installed #108556

System Information
PC : Intel Core i9-9900K
Ram : 2x16GB
GPU : Before : two 2 GTX 1060 6Gb Now : one RTX 3070 8gb

Blender Version
Broken: 3.4.1
Worked: 3.4.1 before GPU change

NB : 3.5 is much slower for this file.

Short description of error

I am trying to render the 2000 images of one scene, but Blender shuts down after 200 images rendered ( average ). But ...

If I launch rendering through command line : No crash occurs.

I have updated drivers 3 times and now use the last studio drivers.

I have tried all the combinations : Optix/Cuda ; Gpu + CPU / GPU only

I have checked memory usage in task manager, it is not running out of memory ( Ram or GPU VRam )

No heat problem ( it is constantly monitored).

I found this in the crash.txt of my file :

#backtrace

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Render files and and wait ... after 200 frames the crash occurs.

I know that the progressive striping of the file can be useful in many situations to narrow down the cause. But the fact that the GPU change caused the appearance of this issue and the access violation lets me think that you may have something to tell me before I begin this long process. ( I have to wait for 200 frames to be rendered at every test ...)

Thanks

Similar to #85977

@minutepapillon , could you try render with GUI but switch to some other workspaces where it doesn't have a 3d viewport, then see if it crashes? Does it crash at exactly 200 frames into render?

Hi YimingWu ,
No 3d view does not change the problem.
It is not exactly at 200 frames. I am trying to render a simpler file now, it crashes at every 20 frames approximately ...
As usual the render by command line seems to be ok ...
Thanks !

@minutepapillon This could very much be a driver issue since it crashed in the nvidia driver, although it could also be some interface synchronization problem. You could try "lock interface" option for render, if that doesn't work then you probably are gonna need to do it without the UI. I can't really replicate the issue with the file.

@lichtwerk can you make sense of this issue?

@ChengduLittleA ,
Well done ! ... The "lock interface" option let me do my first entire render since I installed the new car and updated the driver ...
I must admit that it was done with a very small resolution ... I will try with a bigger later ...

OK. I think I can close this issue since it can be resolved with that option. Feel free to discuss here further when you have additional problems.
