System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19044-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 526.98

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.3.4, branch: master, commit date: 2023-02-20 11:51, hash: 5429ce1e0ad3
Worked: I have noticed this issue on many of the past versions I have used.

Short description of error
I have noticed that upon alembic export from Blender, and then re-import that many (sometimes all) edges get marked as 'Sharp'.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Shift+A -> Create Monkey.
  2. Tab into Edit Mode to check no Edges are marked as Sharp.
  3. Tab out of Edit Mode.
  4. With Suzanne selected, File > Export > Alembic:
    a. All settings default except. End Frame = 1 and Only Selected Objects is ticked.
    b. Click Export Alembic.
  5. File > New > General > Don't Save.
  6. File > Import > Alembic:
    a. Select your exported alembic file - all settings default.
    b. Click Import Alembic.
  7. Tab into Edit Mode.

You will now see that all the edges are Blue, showing that they have all been marked as Sharp.

You can also create a new Suzanne, Tab into Edit Mode and select and mark an edge as Sharp. Export then Import and you will notice that your marked edge will have been lost and all edges marked as sharp.
