System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19045-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 535.98

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.5.0, branch: blender-v3.5-release, commit date: 2023-03-29 02:56, hash: 1be25cfff18b
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error

Pressing modifier keys from two keyboard device doesn't correctly register in blender.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Have two physical "Keyboard" device that both have modifier keys
  • Press Ctrl on keyboard 1 and Alt on keyboard 2
  • Blender doesn't recognize that both Ctrl and Alt are pressed.

Original description:

Hi - I have modifier keys (shift, alt ctrl) assigned on mouse and keyboard and razer keypad.
I use alt to select edge/face loops without issue.
If I press shift+alt on keyboard then I can select as many loops as I like. Same if I press shift+alt both on mouse.
However, if I use modifier keys combined between deviced (shift on keyboard and alt assigned on mouse, or vice versa) then it lets me add only one additional loop to selection only.
I initially thought it was accessory issue, but Its true with my default keyboard, razer keypad, logitech G600 and Razer Naga mouse, I suspect the issue is within blender.

In summary combining modifier keys between keyboard/mouse doesn't seem to work, atleast with loop selections. Any advice? Thanks

This is very likely be a system limit where it doesn't expect two keyboard manipulating key states together. GetKeyState and GetKeyboardState under windows has no keyboard device argument. Most programs won't expect that although it makes perfect sense to split modifier keys on devices on both hands.

Not sure if this can be easily fixed.
