no "Copy Bundle to Asset Library" button #109544

System Information
Operating system:Mac OS Ventura
Graphics card:M1 chip

Blender 3.6.0 downloaded the free base mesh asset bundle and following the tutorial for adding it to the Asset library. We seem to be missing the button "Copy Bundle to Asset Library"

Based on the video tutorial it should be in the lower half of the screen on the left side. I've clicked each of the windows in the area (which you can see in the screenshot) to see if it was a drop-down option.

Anyway thank you for the base mesh pack. I just seem to be missing that one button. Is there a work-around or another way to do the same thing?

and following the tutorial

Hi, thanks for the report. Which video you are referring to?
I searched for the button in code which you've mentioned but did not find any results. Maybe it's a part of some add-on?

Thank you for answering my issue.
I found this video on the blender.org website on a page that gives the new features of version 3.6
https://www.blender.org/download/releases/3-6/

scroll down about 3/4 of the page and you get to where it tells of the free human base mesh asset pack. (See attached screenshots)
They video is under the specific list of items in the mesh asset pack.
In the video it shows the operator going to the button called "Copy Bundle to Asset Library"
I've added a screenshot from this video with the operator moving their cursor to that very button.
The fourth screenshot is from my process of trying to install it as I try to follow the video step by step.
But there is no "Copy Bundle to Asset Library" button.
Is there something else I need to do too get it to show up?

Anyway I hope this clarifies what I'm referring to.

Thanks for looking into this.

Hi, thanks for the explanation. I suspect you've moved human_base_meshes_bundle.blend to existing asset library folder.
move this file outside of the active asset-library folder, this will restore the button.
see the original commit: cd2849c89b

The operator is shown when:

  • the "Current File" library is selected,
  • the blend file name matches *_bundle.blend, and
the file is not already located in an asset library.

Did you check whether this is the case for you?

I faced same issue ,To solve this when adding asset library by clicking + ,create a new folder and select it instead of selecting the zip extracted folder.

Will close since this is not really a bug. As stated in the commit message cd2849c89b and poll function of operator, it is accessible in mentioned cases only.
