Worked: Never Worked
Short description of error
Clicking on a strip and dragging or G dragging the Strip on the timeline on the same Track and then hitting TAB to enter tweak mode is working, but if I do the same thing but drag it to another TRACK then hit TAB I get an error
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open my example Blend file and select the "Click and Drag Me to the Drag Strip Here track" STRIP and drag it to "Click and Drag Me to the Drag Strip Here track" then hit the TAB key to enter tweak mode, you should see an error as shown in the image.
"No active strip(s) to enter tweak mode on
"
If I understood correctly, this could be happening because you have to select the track that you have moved the strip to, only.
Since two tracks are highlighted on the left area, you have one empty track, that you moved the strip from. Select the track that you have moved the strip to only, to let Blender know which track you are tweaking on, and it works.
To test this, select an empty track only, with the target strip highlighted on another track, and press TAB, and it gives the same error. Then select the track with the target highlighted strip, and press TAB, and it works.
Hope this helps.
A good eye! Thank you, the issue is that the drag/drop between tracks IS leaving the previous track selected so as you move it around between more than one strip it keeps selecting tracks and leaving them selected.
At the same time it is loosing the STRIP as the active selection so you can't enter Tweak mode since the TRACK has become the active selection not the strip and you can't Tweak a TRACK only a STRIP.
You're welcome.
So depending on your workflow, maybe its a paper cut.
The track that the strip is being moved to should be the only highlighted/active track or become the only highlighted/active track, to save the action of clicking on it to make it the only active one for future actions like tweaking.
It isn't a blocker but it is a bug. Having to re-selected the STRIP that I just selected and moved and it looks like that nothing has changed in my active/selected state isn't good for any workflow.
Can confirm both (channel selection and cleared active flag).
I'm unable to reproduce the issue in Blender 4.0. Can we confirm this is still an issue?
Pretty sure this was fixed as a part of

@dr.sybren wasn't able to reproduce it either. Closing.
