Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.6.0

Short description of error
screenshot.jpg
Linking this collection and then creating a Library Override on it doesn't allow to move the "Gear" object inside such collection.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Download Test.blend
  • Open Blender and link the collection "Collection" from Test.blend
  • In the Outliner right click on the imported collection and do Library Override > Make > Selected and Content

Can confirm, looks like I need to call Library Override > Make > Selected and Content again on the collection to make objects inside of it library override. Not sure if it's designed this way, to me we should be able to only call it once and be done.

For some reason, if the collection starts out as an instanced collection, and you do Library Override > Make > Selected and Content, the objects inside will be marked as uneditable. You can mark them as editable by shift-clicking the library override icon in the object properties, or, when you initially link the collection, you can uncheck 'Instance Collections' in the file browser. Then doing the same Selected and Content override will actually mark the objects as editable.
