Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.6.0, branch: blender-v3.6-release, commit date: 2023-06-27 08:08, hash:
c7fc78b81ecb
Worked: 3.5.1
Short description of error
An armature in edit mode on the left in 3.5.1, when selected or active there is an selection outline around it in orange, on the right in 3.6 lts, this selection outline isn't drawn anymore, there is a small change but almost impossible to see
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Display outline isn't rendered correctlyto Display outline isn't rendered correctly for edit mode on armaturesHi, thanks for the report. Unable to confirm this.
Could it be an add-on or other preference affecting the outline? See if that happens after factory reset:
File > Default > Load Factory Settings
It is possible, I thought I did check it by running the \Blender 3.6\blender-launcher.exe" --factory-startup.
Now that I am double checking, it does seem to be working correctly . I will keep an eye out and see if I can figure out if it is a bug
The only way I was able to reproduce is to set
hue/sat/value=0
to theEdge Select color
in the3D Viewport
theme space. It happened to another user(*) that the color of the faces of the meshes in edit mode was blue instead of the default white.
Maybe something related to themes is broken?
Oh thanks for that, let me try setting my theme to default and see if that was it
That was it!! Something when I updated and it pulled preferences from 3.5.1 to 3.6 was causing the problem. I reset my theme to Blender Dark and it is drawing correctly.
Guess this is still a bug? I've not found the use of
colorEdgeSelect
in armature shaders. It's intentional I think, the head/tail selection highlight uses the same color as the
Vertex Select color
.I have not checked well what could have been, could it be that the values are saved in binary, and a new color config was added/removed and some values were shifted?
Actually, armature uses the
edge select
theme color to represent selected/active bone, see: https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/src/branch/main/source/blender/draw/intern/draw_common.c#L108yes, this is true. They are shifted based on the offset value.
Not a bug, closing.
