Blender Version

Worked: version 3.6.1, branch: blender-v3.6-release, commit date: 2023-07-17 12:50, hash:
8bda729ef4dc
Additional Version-Information
The broken one is the flathub-app
org.blender.Blender
.The working one is a downloaded archive from www.blender.org (
blender-3.6.1-linux-x64.tar.xz
).The versions are identical, so the problem must have something to do with the flatpak (obviously).
Short description of error
OptiX denoiser creation has failed.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Start Blender (flatpak) and set Render Engine to Cycles (GPU compute).
Then set the viewport maximum-samples to 1 (to make the image as noisy as possible).
Activate Denoising and set the deoniser to OptiX.
Altough the Denoiser has been enabled, the viewport remains noisy.
Go into Preferences > System and select OptiX as computing device.
Viewport Statisitcs show Error message: OptiX denoiser creation has failed.
Terminal:
Addiditonal Information
I did the exact same thing with the same blender version, but downloaded from www.blender.org (
blender-3.6.1-linux-x64.tar.xz
), and it worked perfectly. So I am sure the issue is flatpak-related.Failed to open dir (No such file or directory): /run/user/1000/gvfs/
indicates that you probably do not have read privileges to that directory. Considering it's flatpak, you might want to check if you have enabled it in the flatpak environment, sometimes is user/group issue, or simply a packaging problem. I'd suggest you report this to the flathub tracker for blender. The "Failed to open dir" Error has been fixed this way, but the "OptiX denoiser creation has failed" is still there, I will report this on flathub, thank you for your help.
Closing issue here, since it is reported at distributor.
