System Information
Operating system: Win 10
Graphics card: GTX 1660Ti

Blender Version
Broken: no idea
Worked: 3.5.1

Short description of error
Signed up for your website to learn how to use a piece of software reputed to be hard to lean. Came to YOU because I figured, who would know best? Surely the people who made it, right?

Paid EUR17 for a month's access, which in my country is about a week's groceries for most people. Money was debited off my card.

And yet, when I began learning, I discovered that I was being taught a version of the software that no longer exists, by a person who uses the mouse the wrong way round to begin with.

So my experience is that I, an old, came to you to be taught, and you shafted me substantially. Very uncool. You manifestly aren't ashamed, but you should be.

You can keep the money, because I paid for a lesson. The lesson I learned was about your ethics, and I'll be sure and pass it on for free.

Here's the messed up thing, though: I would have been happy to make a much larger donation to support development. All you had to do was be up front.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Hi, bug tracker is to track bugs within blender software

Paid EUR17 for a month's access

I'm not sure for which access you've paid it? to access course? which course?
Closing since this is not an appropriate place to discuss this problem.

cc @ThomasDinges

Please post the exact URL of the website you signed up. Blender Studio (https://studio.blender.org/welcome/) only costs 11.50€/month, so not sure where the 17€ come from.

Dear Thomas

It's EUR11.50 for an ongoing subscription. It costs EUR17 if you choose manual (1-month) subscription. I feel certain you know this.

https://studio.blender.org/training/3d-printing/

I came to learn Blender for 3D Printers. After beginning the course, I learned that it was for version 2.6, which was why none of the menus or shortcuts matched.

Now, I didn't actually anticipate a further response from your organisation, which is very interesting, especially since this thread has already been marked Closed - generally an indicator of whether an issue is considered serious.

But since you are here and asking, I'd like a statement, please, on your policy regarding selling rental access to obsolete content, and whether it is made clear to the consumer that the content they are purchasing access to is obsolete.

You can anticipate the statement being quoted, so please pass it up the chain if you feel someone else has a more direct responsibility for it.

Thanks,
David

Scratch that. I yelled because I'm sick and in pain.

I'm not going on some crusade, I'm too old, and too tired. You guys did a dick thing, though, so I don't regret calling you on that. Please put up a notice or something up, in case someone else accidentally pays you for content that's almost a decade out of date. You're literally the first search result when someone searches "Blender for 3D printers."

Incidentally, if you do ever update it, let me know. I might not have figured it out by then. I came because I had to reinstall my machine and Sketchup won't export STLs anymore. Starting over.

Anyway, peace, have a good day.

Thanks for your reply, I am sorry that you are not happy with the course.

As for the courses date, the site says that the course videos are from 2015 and there are also some free videos to check first, without paying. See for example https://studio.blender.org/training/3d-printing/560414cf044a2a00c7b7acbb/

We really care about our members and supporters though — in case you are really not happy with our Blender Studio we will kindly try to settle a dispute with you in harmony. You can mail cloudsupport@blender.org for that.
