Broken: version: 3.6.2, branch: blender-v3.6-release, commit date: 2023-08-16 16:43, hash: e53e55951e7a
Worked: (Blender 3.5)

Short description of error

Hello friends,

I am having strange behaviour when I use the Clay Strips brush in Blender 3.6 and the latest 3.6.2.

In some areas, when I go to lay down a stroke, it does nothing for a second or so, then starts adding displacement randomly after some slight lag. This doesn't happen all over the mesh just on some areas such as the lips of my model.

I feel as though It has trouble calculating the surface or something like that. It almost looks like it has to calculate slightly. I am still trying to figure it out. It's random as well. Also the sculpting experience in 3.5 is buttery smooth with the clay strips but not in 3.6 or 3.6.1 and recently 3.6.2. I cannot achieve the same results as with 3.5 with this particular brush, and it just feels a bit off now because its a bit unpredictable..

I have no issue with the same file in 3.5; the Clay strips behave as they should. I even opened a new project in Blender 3.6 appended the model to ensure it wasn't a 3.5 setting that was conflicting. Also, there are no textures applied to the brush.

The other brushes I have used are working fine in 3.6 though.

I have included a .blend file.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Try sculpting on areas such as the lips or the nose with the clay strips brush.

Here is a video of the behaviour I mentioned in my issue. I'm not sure how to include it in the original post, apologies!

In the video you can really see when I try to sculpt on the lips nothing happens.

I then remove the pen and retry and it works again although a bit too much displacement.

My Wacom Cintiq display tablet drivers are also up to date.
