Short description of error
Bounding Box Center works not as intended. In the documentation, we have a whole paragraph saying what a bounding box is -
In this mode, the pivot point lies at the center of the bounding box, which is a box that’s wrapped as tightly as possible around the selection while still being aligned to the world axes.

And after that, we change behavior just cause. I suggest either:

  1. Fix Bounding Box Center so it uses a real bonding box. Example software that has the same setting and it works as it should - 3ds max
  2. Rename the current Bounding Box Center to something more suitable and keep it as it is. But also add a real Bounding Box Center option that works as described in the first paragraph of the documentation.

A lot of artists use this option in day-to-day tasks. It frustrates them that such a straightforward function does not work as it should.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Create a Cube mesh
  2. Set the Cube origin into the bottom polygon of the cube
  3. Select the Bounding Box Center option in Transform Pivot point menu

In object mode, bounding box center will always mean bounding box of selected objects' origins. So if only one object is selected, the bounding box would be around the one origin point with 0 size. See manual here

Since this is working as expected, will close this issue. Thanks for reporting!

@ChengduLittleA It's not much use when you have Median Point mode. Responding to the mesh bbox will give many advantages, the current implementation is counter-intuitive and makes no sense, never used in 7 years bbox because of its current implementation.
