System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 4090 (Founder's Edition)

Blender Version
Broken: 3.6.4

Short description of error
Blender crashes at random frames during renders, very rarely completing the render.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Hi, thanks for the report. From debug log, it seems crash occurred during render of frame 680
I'm not able to confirm locally though. Does crash happen after rendering of random number of frames?
Could you try factory reset then verify the crash (to eliminate the interference of add-on): File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings

blender_debug_output.txt has not captured crash related information. Could it be a hardware fault? ran out of memory?

Hi, sorry for the late response. Yes, the crash does happen after render a random number of frames, it doesn't always reach 680. I have reinstalled Blender several times, but not a factory reset yet. I'll give that a shot.

As for hardware/ memory, I'm doubtful of that being an issue, since my computer is equipped with 128 GB RAM, a 13th gen I9 CPU, and the 4090 mentioned in the report. Is there any way I can adjust VRAM?

Note: I have also reinstalled windows 10 several times now, and done what I can to make sure drivers are up to date.

Thanks for the info. Since crash logs are missing from blender_debug_output.txt, could you check whether event-viewer or reliability monitor has any error after the crash?

Another way to get additional logs: Launch blender from command line with --debug or --debug-cycles argument, share logs generated after the crash.

Reinstalling blender do not reset the preferences, so it'd be good to verify with factory reset

Is there any way I can adjust VRAM?

I don't think it's possible to increase VRAM of dedicated GPU.
