Short description of error
can't assign shortcut to undo history in the UI's right click.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
open blender edit menu, right click undo history and look for assign shortcut option. Affects all menus items that have sub menus.

Even if the undo history already has a shortcut in 4.0 and 4.0's preferences were imported to 4.1 on first use, the shortcut was lost.

Hi, thanks for the report. This is same as #97431, no?
Workaround:

To resolve this, I switched to the Blender 2.7X Keymap which did have the Undo History shortcut, copied the shortcut "ed.undo_history" and assigned that manually in the default "Blender" Keymap.

Hi, yes I think it is. I did have it set in 4.0 and even though I chose to import preferences from 4.0 when first opening 4.1, the keymap was lost.

I've manually added it so not a big issue. I could have sworn in a recent blender version I was able to add a shortcut to any menu item, even if it had sub menus. I could be mistaken though.

We probably have a design task for it but this has not worked so far
