Text Info shows last Collection selected as the Collection for the next object selected instead of the Collection to which it belongs. This is true in latest 3.3.65 official and daily, as well as 4.0 , 4.1. Would be useful if the Text Info would state the Collection to which the selected object actually belongs.

The manual say it is showing the selected collection.

Object Info

Shows the current frame in parentheses, followed by the names of the selected Collection and the active object. When applicable, also shows the selected Shape Key and (in angle brackets) the Marker on the current frame. If the object has a keyframe on the current frame, the Object Info is displayed in yellow.

Note that you have a | delimiter between the collection and the object and not a > or /.

But the subject is the "Object Info" maybe it should be "Selected/Active Info".

Hi, thanks for the report. This is not a bug. Active view layer collection is displayed at first place, see: https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/src/branch/main/source/blender/editors/space_view3d/view3d_draw.cc#L1340

Closing this for now. But it sounds reasonable to display collection in which selected object belongs.
