Simulaztion Zone appears to let points move only if the time is going backwards

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
GeoNodes setup:

  • Create circle
  • Move points in Z with Scene time
  • Simulation Zone breaks movement

Hi, thanks for the report. I can confirm with provided setup. You can move the transform geometry node inside simulation zone to achieve the rotation.

Hi, thanks for the report. I can confirm with provided setup. You can move the transform geometry node inside simulation zone to achieve the rotation.

Yes, but this points were being joined with some other geo before the simulation zone.

Also, looking at the positive, this is a really good was of making a AR racket wrench.

This isn't a bug. The rotation will only be computed once-- when the simulation begins. For something to be computed ever frame it needs to be inside the simulation zone.
