On library overridden rigs, when the resync enforce operator is ran it detaches the current actions from any armatures in the collection.
Steps to recreate:
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).
Can you also upload the file with a rig?
Apologies, I've uploaded the rig I've linked into the scene. If you download both and relocate the rig in the
LO_ResyncEnforce_BugReport.blend
to theTeo_and_Kenji_public.blend
in the Blendfile view of the outliner, the rig should be visible. Though I've tested this with multiple linked Library Override rigs and it all has the same bug. Thanks for update.I can confirm this happens, will check whether this is expected behavior.
From top level documentation this seems like undesired behavior, so will confirm.
Attaching a few new files to make the step recreation easier. Attached a video walkthrough as well (LO_ResyncEnforce_Video).
Steps to recreate:
Make
operator-> Library override -> Troubleshoot -> select the
Resync Enforce
operatorThat's the expected behavior,
resync enforce
is designed to reset the override to its pristine 'freshly created' state, with all IDs relationships matching the original linked data. So if the animation currently assigned to an object is not the same as in the reference linked data, it will be unlinked as well.Question here is more why do you need to use this feature?
resync enforce
is supposed to be a 'last chance' fixing tool in case a liboverride becomes so broken that a regular resync does not work anymore. Not as a 'regular' pipeline tooling...@iss curious what makes you say that top level docs would say that this is not expected behavior?
@mont29 Looking at this again, I think this was misunderstanding on my part I have tested resync enforce, but then probably looked at normal resync by mistake.
Thanks for clarifying this, will close since this is working as expected.
