Hi, I'm not able to replicate this situation in 4.1. Your build is bit outdated, can you check again in today's build?: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/

I see, you've render view enabled. In front is not implemented for render mode AFAICT, see: #71523 / #76784 / #65239

Just checked the latest alpha & it's not working for me. Is it my machine do you think?

@PratikPB2123 just wiped everything on 4.02 so it totally clean and it's not working. Is there something new here that I am missing?

@AdamEarle , in front does not work in material preview and render mode. That's a limitation :/

Nothing to do with you but, WOW! That's kind not kool is it?

This probably should be stated in the documentation if this is not going to be fixed or made available in every mode. The inconsistency here is kinda confusing because it's only for armatures.

Who deals with this part of Blender? Shouldn't the UI be updated? What's going on here?

Manual bug report [blender/blender-manual#104664]
Here is a Twitter discussion that is going on about it https://twitter.com/joelR_VC/status/1735116735269753154

It seems there are even more inconsistencies than I first realized.

Thanks for reporting in manual-repo. This is indeed not documented.

I could be wrong but I think it's a little more than that? What now/next can we/ do I have to do?

What now/next can we/ do I have to do?

This is limitation so not much w do here. I'm not sure about the use cases where you want object to be in-front like that in final render.
Anyways, we can ask @fclem more about this limitation (referring #71523 (comment) , #65239 (comment))

Edit: accidently re-opened the report? :)
