Operating system: windows 10

Blender Version
Broken: blender-4.1.0-alpha+main.0fb89c2301f2-windows.amd64-release
Worked:

Short description of error~
eevee lagacy and eevee "next" are crashing as soon as you switch to material or rendered view
EDIT: after testing in the latest main (2794afc84e) eevee next is the only one crashing now

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
open blender and switch to material or rendered view and blender will close

I was about to post the same issue with latest version(s) of main. Both Windows and Linux are crashing for me as soon as I try to render or preview.
