System Information
Dell Inc. G5 5587, 16,0 GiB
Intel® Core™ i7-8750H × 12
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design / Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 6
Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
Gnome 43.9, X11

system-info.txt
Confirmed instability in multiple Windows 11 pc.

Blender Version
Broken: 4.0.2, official
Worked: progressive improvement is achieved toward version 3. It is stable in 2.93.9.

Short description of error
Random crashes during video tracking.
Normally, even starting it from the command line, you don't get any error reports except a general "cancelled" line. I could get a more detailed report that you find attached.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Video tracking window, upload a file, prefetch (or not, it's independent).
Start putting markers, use graph editor to move between frames.
At some point Blender freezes and suddenly crashes.

Crash.txt
When you read "Annullato" is "Cancelled" but it means Blender has crashed without any warning.
No specific file is required, is just ordinary use.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a procedure to certainly get to the crash: normally it crashes every ~5/10 minutes of work.

I am, of course, willing to investigate following further instructions.
Thank you!
Riccardo

Can you upload .blend file with footage you are using?
The file crash.txt is console output? There should be file blender.crash.txt in /tmp/ that would provide more information. Please upload this file as well.

I have tested on my Dell, as specified on the opening post, and on a Lenovo Legion 5:
Amd Ryzen 7
Nvidia GeForce Rtx 2060 / Radeon Graphics x 16
Debian Gnu/Linux 12 (bookworm)
Gnome 43.9, X11

The operating system is the same, but the hardware is different.
Tomorrow I will perform some test Windows.

I used three different source videos: one created with a Sony camera, one with my cell phone, the third is a series of images from Tears for Steel. The crash occurred at most after 10 to 12 minutes of working on the videos.

In my Dell I found the crashes, in the Lenovo only the errors (but I plan to do new tests with longer videos).
I made the screen recording of the errors, here is one:

The footage directory and all crash recordings (I tried to cut out only the essential parts) I put them here:
https://we.tl/t-n3f339NKiZ

I never found *.crash.txt files after events.

Thank you,
Riccardo

Sorry for late answer, seems that the link has already expired. Can you upload files directly to this site? Since you have uploaded video, it would be good to upload same files so I can follow it step by step.

No problem!
Here they are the reports: Reports.zip

I used an external link because here it tells me "413 Request Entity Too Large" (140 Mb). I used the original videos, never there were problems with the original encoding or such...
Here is a new link to the footage: https://we.tl/t-ei7wxclcq1

I'll have windows reports in next weeks, momentarily I only have linux laptop in my hands.
Thank you,
Riccardo

Thanks for the files. Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce any crash. Can you check if this happens with alpha build from https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/?

Seeing UHD Graphics 630 in system info, there is good chance, that this is causing issues, as there are bunch of reports for this GPU. Perhaps you can check dmesg whether driver complains about something when crash happens.
