"Replace" option for keyframes also affecting regular keyframing #117295

Closed
opened 2024-01-18 17:46:55 +01:00 by Christoph Lendenfeld · 1 comment

System Information
Operating system: Linux Mint
Graphics card: RTX 3070

Blender Version
Broken: 4.1
Worked: probably never, checked back to 3.3

Short description of error
When the option to insert keyframes is set to "Replace" pressing I in the viewport will not insert any keys.
This is unexpected because the option is in the Auto-Keyframe settings.
Additionally this is only the case when auto-keying is enabled.
image

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

  • Open default blend file
  • enable auto-keying in the timeline
  • next to the auto-keying button is the arrow to open the auto-key settings. Choose "Replace"
  • Press I in the viewport and choose Location
  • Notice no keys have been created
  • disable autokeying
  • Press I and choose location again
  • notice it creates keys

When creating keys manually the autokeying options should have no influence on the outcome
