Hi, thanks for the report. I think in 4.1, bone collection UI has been moved to use new tree-view structure. Looks like "search" is not implemented yet for the Tree-view.

Press Ctrl+F, that should give a generic filtering option for the properties panel.

@JulianEisel there should be a way to integrate that better with the bone collections tree view, right? I'm not sure how to do that though, as the documentation for the filter-related function on AbstractTreeView wasn't quite enough for me to understand what it expects me to implement.

Oh, that is by design? I think it would look like a regression in the eyes of some users, to be honest. Especially not being able to resize the window. It is also inconsistent with e.g. Vertex Groups, Shape keys etc.

I know, it's a side-effect of having a tree instead of a flat list. The tree UI is new, and needs more development.

Especially not being able to resize the window. It is also inconsistent with e.g. Vertex Groups, Shape keys etc.

Check #116940. Right now the tree is always expanded, but when that PR lands, you can simply collapse parts of the tree and the entire thing will be smaller. I think that's a nicer way to go about it than always having to resize the thing manually whenever you expand/collapse things.

Thanks for the link!

@dr.sybren
I see. OK, I'll have to use it and see if it grows on me. :)

We have a TODO task now: #118201
So I think we can close this report :)
Feel free to reopen if module maintainers still want this a separate task
